North Carolina Action for Healthy Kids Welcome to the North Carolina Team Action for Healthy Kids is the nation’s leading nonprofit and largest volunteer network fighting childhood obesity and undernourishment by partnering with schools to improve nutrition and physical activity to help our kids learn to eat right, be active every day and be ready to learn.
The North Carolina Action for Healthy Kids Team hosted a school wellness advocacy training in early 2009 for parents and regional leaders to help expand their efforts to the grassroots level. The goal of this training was to prepare Team members with materials and awareness on how to engage community individuals and organizations in helping create healthy schools in their area. By forming these regional grassroots team, the NC Team is looking ahead to forge strong local connections all across the state. Looking Ahead Our goals are to:
